Göcsej Village Museum

This Zalaegerszeg’s Village Museum lies between on the bank of the river Zala and 18th century watermill.

It is the first open-air ethnographic museum in Hungary. The building complex consists of 40 buildings, which were delivered to the site from 22 settlements in Zala. It is noteworthy that within a few minutes walk of the city center we find a fabulous natural setting of the former world. The visitor can see a 19th century village in Göcsej with farmhouses, farm buildings, church, blacksmith shop and mill.
